IT leaders are recognized as having skills and experience benefitting many areas of the business.  For example, IT leaders typically have a cross-functional perspective, a “systems view” (not just technology systems, but also business systems), and a strong process orientation.  These strengths may explain why a company’s PMO is often started by the IT department.  Regardless of where it started, a strong PMO and a great project methodology are critical to the success of any organization.  This section will share important ideas to improve the planning, execution, and overall success of your projects.
